CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Green Team,
We need your help! Please reply to this email if you would like to help with this year's How to Garden Tour (April 17th) in one of the following ways:
1. Garden Docents - See below email from the Tour organizers.
2. Postcard Distribution - Help spread the word about the Tour by distributing Green Team postcards! It's great exercise and a huge help in promoting this important event and fundraiser for our neighborhood community garden.
Thank you all for your tremendous support!
Justin
---
The Wood Streets Green Team is very excited to be hosting its 2nd "How to Garden" Tour, which will feature six private Wood Streets gardens using sustainable gardening techniques. All proceeds will go to support the Wood Streets Green Team Community Garden Projects.
Last year, we had 300 people participate in this event and we are expecting an even bigger turn out this year, hence why we need all the help we can get to ensure that this event runs smoothly.
We are in need of docents who will distribute maps to participants, as well as collect the $5 suggested donation from visitors as they arrive (which will not apply to you as a wonderful volunteer). You need not be an expert on sustainable gardening to volunteer, but rather a supporter of good things happening in your community.
The event is on Sunday, April 17 from 11 - 5. There are two shifts to volunteer: 10:45 - 2:00 p.m. OR 1:45 - 5:00.
Attached you will find a flyer that provides further details regarding the tour.
If you are interested in participating, please email me back with your name and which shift(s) you can volunteer. Once I receive confirmation, I will send a follow-up email with more details.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Jessie, Justin, Karen, Maddie, and Marilyn
CAN'T MAKE THE EVENT, BUT STILL WANT TO SHOW SUPPORT? Don't fret, you still can. We are also in need of people to distribute postcards advertising the event throughout the neighborhood. This can be done on your own time. Please email if this is something you can do instead or as well.
Comment by Melissa McCluskey on April 4, 2011 at 2:07pm Can someone resend me information on volunteering for the "How to Garden Tour?". My email for this got deleted.
Thanks, Melissa
